Meet Jennifer
After a career as a nurse, teacher and sales manager, I moved back to Australia following
24 years of living in Italy. This major life transition forced me to face what I owned and
how much of it was essential to this new life. Various experiences helping family and
friends showed me how possessions can overwhelm both our physical and mental space.
In 2014 Decluttering Solutions began to assist older Australians with decluttering and
downsizing. In particular, professionals and new retirees struggling to make sense of their
belongings while downsizing and moving, to embrace the next chapter of life. Client
enquiries expanded to include the Disability and Aged Care sectors where safety and
usability of the home are fundamental needs and rights.
10 years on, it is still true that sorting through a lifetime of possessions can be a
frustrating challenging for even the most capable people. Help is sometimes needed from a
supportive, understanding professional to give it all some perspective. Get the ball rolling
with a plan to set a rational order, and deliver practical strategies to help clients
achieve their goals in a timely way.
Working across Greater Sydney, Decluttering Solutions specialises in residential decluttering and
downsizing. This includes relocation to Over-55’s villages and other Aged Care settings as well as move
management, storage unit management and estate clearances. We also with Aged Care Providers to
provide decluttering and organisational assistance to Home Care package recipients.
I am an Expert Accredited member of the Institute of Professional Organisers who loves mentoring other
Professional Organisers and get great pleasure watching them shine in this blossoming profession I am so
passionate about. I am also a founding Board Member of the Institute of Professional Organisers in the
role of Research & Development.
